Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Michigan.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s degree in Nursing or Healthcare Administration preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of hospice experience, including 2 years in a leadership or management role.
  • Strong understanding of hospice regulations, clinical standards, and best practices.
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Experience managing multidisciplinary clinical teams.
  • Proficiency with electronic health records (EMR) and documentation systems.
  • Compassionate, mission-driven approach to patient care.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Nursing or Healthcare Administration preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily hospice clinical operations to ensure the highest standards of care delivery.
  • Lead, mentor, and support a multidisciplinary team of RNs, LPNs, social workers, aides, and volunteers.
  • Ensure compliance with state, federal, and hospice regulations, including CMS and accrediting body requirements.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor quality improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to develop and manage individualized patient care plans.
  • Manage clinical documentation accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
  • Participate in budgeting, resource management, and strategic planning to maintain efficient operations.
  • Serve as a patient and family advocate, ensuring dignity, respect, and compassionate communication.
  • Support outreach and community engagement efforts to expand awareness of Safe Hands Hospice services.
