Gateway Post Acute is seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our nursing department in delivering exceptional resident-centered care. Requirements
- Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing; BSN preferred.
- Current, active, and unencumbered RN license in the State of California.
- Minimum of seven (7) years of nursing management experience preferred.
- Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) experience required.
- Proven success with regulatory compliance and survey management.
- Strong clinical leadership and team-building abilities.
- Deep knowledge of SNF regulations and standards of care.
- Budget management and operational oversight experience.
- Ability to interpret regulations and implement compliance strategies.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and PointClickCare (PCC).
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the facility regularly.
- Ability to lift or move up to 75 pounds occasionally.
- Prolonged computer use and frequent communication with staff and physicians.
- May require travel by automobile or airline as needed.

Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage the entire nursing department and staffing operations.
- Ensure the highest standards of resident safety, dignity, and quality care.
- Develop, implement, and maintain nursing policies and procedures.
- Coordinate MDS processes and comprehensive care planning.
- Participate in QA, Utilization Review, and interdisciplinary care conferences.
- Remain current on regulatory changes and ensure facility compliance.
- Lead all state surveys and oversee plans of correction and follow-up.
- Recruit, hire, train, and mentor nursing staff.
- Supervise the ADON and all nursing personnel directly or indirectly.
- Conduct performance evaluations and manage corrective action when necessary.
- Develop and conduct clinical in-services and ongoing education programs.
- Serve as liaison between physicians, pharmacy services, families, and facility leadership.
- Coordinate pharmacy services and oversee proper medication management.
- Work closely with all departments to ensure cohesive, high-quality resident care.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of employee and resident information.
- Manage departmental budgeting and reporting.
- Ensure appropriate staffing levels based on acuity and census.
- Provide direct resident care as needed to support the team and maintain standards.
