About The Position

Hale Nani Nursing & Rehabilitation Center is seeking an experienced, compassionate, and strategic Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our clinical team in beautiful Honolulu. This is an exceptional opportunity for a dynamic nursing leader who is passionate about delivering high-quality resident care, strengthening clinical systems, and mentoring the next generation of nursing professionals. You will be supported by an experienced regional leadership team and empowered to shape the clinical culture and standards within our facility. The Director of Nursing is responsible for planning, organizing, developing, and directing the overall operations of the Nursing Department to ensure the highest level of quality care is delivered in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing (State of Hawaii or eligible for endorsement)
  • Minimum of 3+ years of skilled nursing experience preferred
  • Supervisory or nursing leadership experience in hospital or other healthcare settings will also be considered
  • Strong knowledge of rehabilitative and restorative nursing practices
  • Thorough understanding of long-term care regulations and compliance standards
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and team-building skills

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and oversight of all clinical operations within the facility
  • Plan, organize, develop, and direct all functions of the Nursing Department
  • Oversee comprehensive resident assessments and individualized care planning
  • Develop and manage departmental budgets, including staffing, equipment, and supplies
  • Recruit, mentor, and motivate nursing staff to promote clinical excellence and professional growth
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable healthcare regulations and long-term care standards
  • Respond effectively in emergency situations
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, residents, families, and community partners
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
