About The Position

Are you a home care RN with management experience, looking for a career as a director of nursing where you can impact the lives of others? BrightStar Care of Denton, TX, a Joint Commission-accredited home care agency, is growing and seeking an experienced Director of Nursing. The DON will work closely with our clinical team and supervise care for our skilled and private duty clients. They will ensure that we are operating at Joint Commission standards and providing excellent customer care.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing
• Current Texas RN license in good standing
• Minimum two (2) years of experience in home care nursing
• Management experience required
• Current CPR certification
• Current driver’s license
• TB skin test results within one year of hire or chest X-ray within 5 years of hire
• Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19

Responsibilities

• Promote and enhance the level of clinical expertise of staff to provide safe and quality nursing care and documentation as necessary
• Review physician’s orders and update the plans of care and documentation as necessary
• Assist with interviewing, selecting, training, and validation of new team members
• Internal case management, evaluation, and development of nursing talent
• Ensure adherence to state, federal, JCAHO, and local policies and procedures
• Supervise nursing staff providing in-skilled nursing care to clients of all ages
• See clients and do assessments and care as needed
