About The Position

Director of Nursing (DON) – RN Bear Creek Nursing Center 8041 State Road 52, Hudson, FL 34667 Full-Time | Skilled Nursing Facility | Leadership Role Lead with Purpose. Drive Clinical Excellence. Make a Lasting Impact. Bear Creek Nursing Center is seeking a strong, experienced Director of Nursing (RN) to lead our clinical team. This is a high-visibility leadership role responsible for driving quality outcomes, supporting and developing nursing staff, and ensuring excellence in resident care. We are looking for a leader who is hands-on, accountable, and results-driven—someone who thrives in a fast-paced skilled nursing environment and is committed to building a culture of clinical excellence, teamwork, and accountability.

Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Florida (required)
  • Proven experience as a Director of Nursing in a skilled nursing facility (required)
  • Strong knowledge of: Regulatory compliance and survey process
  • MDS, PDPM, and reimbursement fundamentals
  • Quality Measures and QAPI
  • Demonstrated success leading teams and improving clinical outcomes
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills

Responsibilities

  • Clinical Leadership & Operations Lead all nursing operations within the facility
  • Ensure delivery of high-quality, resident-centered care
  • Maintain appropriate staffing and skill mix across all shifts
  • Drive accountability and performance across the nursing team
  • Quality & Outcomes (QAPI Focus) Own and improve key clinical outcomes (falls, wounds, infections, rehospitalizations)
  • Lead QAPI initiatives and performance improvement efforts
  • Monitor and respond to trends in Quality Measures (QMs)
  • Regulatory & Survey Readiness Maintain continuous survey readiness
  • Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations (CMS, AHCA)
  • Lead survey processes, audits, and plans of correction
  • Team Development & Retention Recruit, train, and develop nursing leadership and staff
  • Foster a culture of engagement, accountability, and recognition
  • Coach and mentor team members to drive growth and retention
  • Collaboration & Communication Partner with interdisciplinary team members to support resident outcomes
  • Communicate effectively with physicians, families, and leadership
  • Serve as a key leader within the building’s management team
