About The Position

The Director of Nursing for the Associate of Science in Nursing program at Trine University is responsible for providing leadership, oversight, and excellence in teaching within the nursing program. This role involves strategic planning, program development, faculty supervision, fiscal management, and ensuring compliance with accreditation standards. The Director will work closely with the Executive Director of Nursing and the Dean of the Brooks College of Health Professions to enhance the educational experience for students and maintain high academic standards.

Requirements

  • A Master of Nursing degree from an accredited university
  • An earned doctorate degree in nursing, education, or relevant discipline from an accredited university is preferred
  • An active, unencumbered registered nurse license in the State of Indiana
  • A minimum of three years' experience in a full-time academic appointment with teaching responsibilities at the associate level; experience with online pedagogy preferred
  • A minimum of three years documented clinical experience as a registered nurse with leadership experience
  • Documented scholarship in relevant areas

Responsibilities

  • Program planning and development
  • Collaborate with the Executive Director of Nursing to develop and implement strategic plans for the ASN program
  • Assess needs and coordinate the development, implementation, evaluation, and revision of instructional material and curricula
  • Participate in advisory board meetings for the nursing unit
  • Supervise ASN faculty and staff
  • Coordinate faculty recruitment efforts and recommend appointments with the Executive Director of Nursing
  • Evaluate, mentor, and foster the development of faculty and staff
  • Implement and manage policies and procedures of the ASN program
  • Support student recruitment, admission, and retention for the ASN program
  • Preparation and management of the annual program budget
  • Procurement and allocation of nursing unit's resources and budget
  • Complete program evaluation with analysis of data to improve instructional and program quality
  • Collaborate with the Executive Director of Nursing in completion of required accreditation documents
  • Teach six credit hours per 12-month contract
  • Provide excellence in teaching with adherence to University policies
