About The Position

Paul Davis Restoration of the Triad is a full-service property restoration company providing emergency response, mitigation, reconstruction, and contents services to residential and commercial clients. We partner with homeowners, business owners, insurance carriers, and adjusters to restore properties impacted by water, fire, mold, storm, and catastrophic events. Our commitment is operational excellence, customer advocacy, and disciplined execution from loss through completion. The Director of Mitigation is a senior operational executive responsible for leading, scaling, and optimizing all mitigation operations across the organization. This role requires strategic oversight of large-loss execution, multi-team leadership, financial performance, and high-level carrier/client negotiations. This individual owns divisional results through operational discipline, data‑driven leadership, and a strong focus on quality, compliance, and profitability. The role reports directly to the General Manager.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of restoration/mitigation industry experience, including water, fire, mold, and large-loss operations.
  • Minimum 5+ years in multi-team or multi-branch leadership with demonstrated success building and scaling high-performing teams.
  • Proven success managing large-loss or commercial mitigation projects.
  • Advanced experience with T&M a nd Xactimate estimating.
  • IICRC WRT required
  • Strong command of drying science, psychrometrics, and mitigation standards.
  • Mastery of Xactimate, T&M estimating, and restoration management platforms (DASH, MICA).
  • Deep understanding of KPIs, job costing, operational metrics, and financial drivers.
  • Executive decision-making and strategic planning abilities.
  • High emotional intelligence and communication skill in sensitive, high-stress environments.
  • Proven ability to lead through accountability, metrics, and outcomes.
  • Regular jobsite visits, including hazardous environments.
  • On-call availability for strategic emergency response.
  • Regional travel as needed.
  • Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all mitigation operations from first notice of loss through job closeout, including water, fire, smoke, mold, and commercial large-loss events.
  • Provide enterprise-level oversight of multi-team and multi-branch scheduling , capacity planning, and resource allocation to maximize operational efficiency.
  • Ensure accurate and timely production reporting from field operations to administration.
  • Maintain 24/7 emergency response readiness, staffing, fleet, and equipment deployment strategies.
  • Direct large-loss strategies and provide executive intervention on complex, high-liability projects.
  • Ensure strict adherence to IICRC, OSHA, PPE standards, and company workflows.
  • Own the mitigation P&L, including revenue, gross margin, labor efficiency, job costing, and forecasting.
  • Oversee complex estimate development in Xactimate and T&M platforms , and lead negotiations for high‑impact claims and commercial contracts.
  • Review and approve scopes, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and margin protection.
  • Implement financial controls, variance reporting, and documentation systems to support timely billing.
  • Provide strategic capital planning for mitigation equipment, drying technology, fleet assets, and software adoption.
  • Recruit, develop, and retain top-performing mitigation supervisors, project managers, and technicians
  • Build leadership bench strength and succession planning , creating internal pathways for future managers.
  • Develop structured training programs for technical development, compliance, equipment use, and customer service.
  • Lead a culture centered on execution, accountability, safety, and customer advocacy.
  • Implement and monitor a division-wide quality control program , including structured site inspections.
  • Enforce OSHA standards, PPE protocols, and jobsite safety audits.
  • Ensure accuracy in moisture documentation, equipment readings, job file compliance, and photo documentation.
  • Maintain equipment calibration, inventory control, and fleet compliance.
  • Serve as the senior escalation authority for all mitigation-related client issues, commercial disputes, and insurance carrier negotiations.
  • Lead high-level communication with adjusters, TPAs, consultants, and commercial facility managers.
  • Resolve scope disputes and oversee complex claim settlements with strategic, solutions‑focused communication.
  • Partner with Business Development to support carrier relationships and program performance.
  • Evaluate and implement emerging mitigation technologies, drying systems, and field management software.
  • Identify operational inefficiencies and deploy continuous improvement initiatives aligned with company goals.
  • Contribute to annual planning, risk mitigation strategies, and long-term organizational growth.
