About The Position

The Director of Millwork provides leadership and guidance to the organization’s Millwork team. They oversee all sales, customer service, inventory, production, and delivery operations of the company’s millwork facilities. Ensures the millwork facilities operate efficiently and effectively by managing costs, optimizing sales, and profitability.

  • A bachelor’s degree in business administration, Logistics, Engineering, or a related field is preferred; equivalent relevant work experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in millwork and/or engineered components manufacturing from procurement to order fulfillment is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees and gives direction and support to direct reports in all of the millwork facilities.
  • Inspects facility operations to ensure efficient production procedures, project completion, good housekeeping, safety compliance, inventory control, and customer service of and from those facilities.
  • Develops monthly, quarterly and annual operating and budgeting plans in conjunction with the Senior Vice President of Operations and Merchandising to meet company goals for operations and profitability, as well as protect company assets and profitability.
  • Analyzes end of day, week and month performance indicators to monitor sales, gross profit and inventory activity. Identifies trends and takes proactive or remedial action to manage business situations appropriately.
  • Analyzes competitive marketplace and makes recommendations to the Senior Vice President of Operations and Merchandising for product purchases, pricing changes, and/or facility equipment requirements.
  • Recruits, trains, and mentor's subordinate managers and supervisors to provide and maintain quality customer service to facility customers, as well as implement employee development strategies for the millwork facilities.
  • Ensures quality customer service through personal and interpersonal interaction with McCoy’s retail stores and commercial contractors. Can include market pricing reviews, product selection, product packaging and delivery, as well as negotiating with component vendors.
  • Works interdependently with store personnel and corporate departments to resolve issues that concern the millwork facilities.
  • Frequently interacts with store personnel, outside sales, and key customers to become familiar with customer’s attitudes, preferences, and purchasing problems.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
