About The Position

The Director of MEOC/METS and Principal Investigator leads and manages two federally funded TRIO programs (Maine Educational Opportunity Center (MEOC) and Maine Educational Talent Search (METS) supporting youth and adults in accessing postsecondary education. Responsible for writing competitive grant proposals for renewal every five years, developing and monitoring program budgets, and ensuring full compliance with all applicable federal regulations. Provides strategic leadership to 15 program staff, oversees the planning, coordination, and delivery of all services to 3,000 participants, and manages a $7,157,205 budget ($1,430,441 annually). Typical hiring range for this position is $70,000 to $78,000 commensurate with qualifications and experience. Qualifications: Required: Master’s degree in administration, counseling, education, human services, or a closely related field. Substantial experience in managing and administering federal grant programs, including program design, fiscal oversight, and service delivery to low-income and first-generation students. Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills; A deep understanding of the needs of disadvantaged populations; Familiarity with issues related to poverty and access to postsecondary education. Proficiency in spreadsheet tools and advanced budget management Preferred: Counseling experience Prior involvement with TRIO programs.
