About The Position

The Director of Mental Health is responsible for the overall administrative, operational, clinical and strategic coordination of all mental health services to ensure individualized, competent, evidence-based care and long-term program sustainability. This role oversees the administrative functions of all mental health personnel, including billing analysis, insurance utilization, client trends, scheduling, and service flow. The Director works closely across Rincon Family Services—particularly with Human Resources, Quality Assurance, and Finance—to ensure alignment, compliance, and operational effectiveness. The Director, working with the CHBO, works with the Finance Department on budgeting, fiscal oversight, and program performance. The Director prepares and presents reports as required and ensures that resources are managed responsibly and effectively. The Director ensures all mental health services, including office based, community based, school based and our 24/7 mobile crisis response services, are delivered in a caring, respectful, and culturally responsive manner, consistent with organizational policies, regulatory requirements and best practices within Mental Health. The Director, overseeing Clinical Managers and supervisors, will ensure accurate, complete, and confidential participant records, which demonstrate individualized evidence based, and collaborative care, making proper referrals across Rincon programs. This role also builds and maintains external relationships to strengthen community partnerships, expand services, and enhance program reach. The Director is responsible for implementing and executing departmental strategy as established by the Office of the President & CEO in coordination with the Chief Behavioral Health Officer.

Requirements

  • Medicaid, HIPPA, CARF, OIG and all other accreditation and licensure requirements
  • Basic, relevant Medicaid and private insurance and billing procedures

  • 5 plus years of mental health services work experience or healthcare management experience
  • Knowledge of clinical intake, assessment and evidence-based treatment, excellent customer service and communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Strong data entry and general computer skills
  • Completion of mandatory trainings as required by funders, vendors and/or government contracts and desire to continue to enhance professional development
  • In addition, must pass pre-employment drug screening, background check to include finger printing and clearance by OHS Background Check Unit
