SUMMARY The Director of Memory Care is responsible for promoting the principles and best practices of dementia care within Capri's Blu Grotto define program: offering choice, maintaining dignity, and promoting wellness and individuality. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Ensure programs and processes that promote excellence in wellness with dementia, ensuring that Capri Communities' Blu Grotto/wellness programming differentiates Capri Communities as a leader in the industry.In collaboration with the Director of Lifestyle Enrichment, uphold the standards that ensure appropriate resident active aging programming throughout Capri's Memory Care (Blu Grotto) settings.Under the Blu Grotto brand program, this position will oversee that consistent dementia well-being and wellness programs, including signature and other ability-based programs, across all Capri memory care neighborhoods are incorporated in monthly calendars.Establishes professional partnerships to continue to offer meaningful experiences for residents and families.Coordinates on-going higher education and training for Memory Care Coordinators/Managers such as Blu Grotto workshops, Missing Person Drills, monthly dementia education topics for all staff meetings, and bi-monthly memory care meetings.Coordinates with Blu Grotto communities the new hire training (care team members and Memory Care Coordinators/Managers).Monitors state and Capri policy and procedure compliance. Will work collaboratively with the VP of Operations to ensure appropriate tracking and training of those policies.Assist community teams, when requested, to analyze, interpret, and problem solve for residents challenging behaviors.Works collaboratively with community leadership with the implementation and overall aspects of programming for Blu Grotto residents. Upon request, this position will coordinate behavioral education, wellness huddles and dementia consultation for care teams, groups or individual residents and/or families. Identifies and maintains professional resources for that education and support.May be required to perform Memory Care Coordinator/Managers duties at the community.Plans bi-annual or quarterly MC Adventure Series experiences that may include family member attendance . Executes the series with the support of the appropriate home office a nd community LE/MC resources.Participates in external resources and organizations relevant to Dementia efforts and research.Works with Clinical team members, as needed, when creating strategies, approaches, and emotional ill-being interventions for individual residents.Works with the Operational team members to pilot new technologies and programs.Collaborates with the Marketing and Sales departments to develop program collateral and materials, etc.Meets with the Blu Grotto advisory committee bi-monthly.May be required to work evenings and weekends for event participation and support, training or outreach.
