About The Position

As the Director of Membership Sales and Community Involvement, you will focus on driving membership sales for the club, with limitless commission incentives on earnings. You will also nurture existing memberships and manage requested changes to ensure an exceptional member experience. In your role as the staff leader for the Membership Committee, you will spearhead initiatives that promote membership growth and retention while maintaining accurate records and generating reports for other departments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Hospitality or Resort Management, Communications, Public Relations, or related major
  • Five years of relevant work experience, preferably in a Club environment.
  • Must be able to reach, bend, stoop, stand, and lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements targeted sales strategies to increase and retain club memberships while maximizing commission opportunities. Prioritizing net new members.
  • Maintains the club’s database (membership register) of members’ files to ensure accurate record-keeping.
  • Leads the Membership Committee, coordinating efforts to meet club membership goals and fostering member engagement.
  • Processes all requests for and transfers of membership, ensuring a smooth transition for new and existing members.
  • Assists prospective members in fulfilling application requirements and conducts tours to showcase club benefits.
  • Implements an orientation program for new members to enhance their experience and loyalty.
  • Promotes club activities through various marketing channels, including newsletters, direct mail, and social media.
  • Collaborates with the Events Manager to update the club’s master calendar and ensure effective scheduling of member events.
  • Engages current members to solicit personal referrals and support recruitment efforts.
  • Analyzes membership data to identify trends and develop strategies for retention, addressing any issues that arise.
  • Organizes membership kits for sales calls, "blitzes," and direct mail campaigns to drive membership growth.
  • Tracks the success and overall performance of all membership activities, providing regular reports to management.
  • Develops and maintains a new member social calendar that includes member-focused events and activities to enhance engagement.
  • Attend local Chamber of Commerce events to increase club exposure and community engagement
  • Responds effectively to member feedback and comments, continuously seeking ways to improve service delivery.
  • Manages the membership process, ensuring proper documentation and communication regarding rules and regulations.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all member information and oversees the administration of membership rules.
  • Actively engages with members during club hours and events to foster a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Reaches out to delinquent members and create action plan while informing them of policies.
  • Completes other appropriate assignments made by the General Manager as required.
