About The Position

As the Director of Media Operations, you’ll design and scale the systems that will help us (1) grow our audience across all channels, (2) acquire more customers, and (3) strengthen our movement and community. You’ll make the media engine run smoother, faster, and better on our way to build Owner.com into a generational company. This role is based in San Francisco, California.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in media operations, project management, or technical operations in a media-focused environment.
  • 2+ years managing cross-functional projects or teams (media, analytics, engineering).
  • Advanced proficiency in project management tools for Media: ClickUp, Notion, or Asana - plus automation tools like Zapier, Airtable, or similar.
  • Proven ability to identify bottlenecks, build scalable workflows, and lead complex operational systems.
  • Strong analytical instincts with experience designing dashboards or automated reporting.
  • Meticulous attention to detail — from file structure and compliance to naming conventions and SOPs.
  • Excellent communicator who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

Responsibilities

  • Work in close partnership with the VP of Media on Media Team org planning and growth, set direction and the operating cadence for all channels.
  • Define an ongoing strategy for prioritization of organic channels, secure executive buy in on resource allocation, and make clear tradeoff calls for our media investments.
  • Identify key hiring and resourcing needs to increase our follower growth by orders of magnitude, develop and execute recruiting plans end to end.
  • Architect and lead the operational backbone of Owner’s media organization across both the customer and talent brands.
  • Manage vendor relationships and deliverables ensuring quality, speed to publish and optimize cost per asset.
  • Build systems, dashboards, and automations that improve team velocity, visibility, and use them to drive cross-functional decisions.
  • Ensure our media teams are always ahead of the ball on media inputs and outputs— with conflict-free production planning, resource management, and posting calendars.
  • Create real-time reporting infrastructure that turns creative output into measurable audience growth and business impact.
  • Hit clear 'can’t miss' KPIs for our team, increase publishing frequency, raise asset quality, and reduce redundant work across channels.
