About The Position

The Director of Market Development will be responsible for leading the physician relationship management (PRM) team focused on growth by earning referrals from employed and independent providers. Director will be responsible for creating, implementing, monitoring and measuring the results of referral development plans based on the strategic and operating plans of Jefferson Health and its' Divisions, physician relationship manager field plans and market intelligence. The director will have oversight for the regional field team including recruiting, onboarding and training as well as maintaining and developing a team that professionally represents and accomplishes the goals of the organization. The director's time will be allocated between the territory role and team management. This person will understand the practice of medicine including referral relationships, payor requirements and other economic and financial influences. Ensures the PRM team has defined geographic targets and can effectively develop and maintain relationships with physicians/providers by direct communication to generate new referrals, increase care retention and achieve volume and utilization targets. Develops and implements a team sales plan that will increase patient volume for Jefferson Health providers and services. Works with system and divisional leadership to define specific goals and measure the effectiveness and success rates of the relationship sales effort. Develops and maintains a database of referring physicians relative to demographics, referral trends and other details as appropriate. Works with regional PRMs and leaders to determine priority growth areas and target providers. Facilitates relationships with Jefferson employed and affiliated physicians, regional physician audience and other referral sources by direct communication to earn referrals into the system. Supervises and provides feedback to the PRM field team to leverage effort and effectiveness of functions outlined. Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferably in business, healthcare administration, or public health administration required.
  • Demonstrated experience and leadership in sales and sales management required
  • 7 years of sales experience, with physicians and/or health care provider setting.
