About The Position

Parsons is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Director of Manufacturing to lead the development and execution of a secure, high-performance manufacturing operation for a secure communications device. This role will require expertise in secure supply chain management, classified manufacturing environments, and the ability to build and lead a team from the ground up. The Director of Manufacturing will be responsible for defining, designing, acquiring, building, testing, and managing the facilities, systems, and personnel required to deliver a certified and secure product at high volume.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in manufacturing leadership roles, preferably in high-security or defense-related industries.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field; will accept an additional years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Proven track record of establishing and scaling manufacturing operations, including facilities, processes, and personnel.
  • Expertise in secure supply chain management, including receipt, storage, testing, assembly, certification, and shipment of sensitive components.
  • Experience working with classified environments, including knowledge of security protocols, classified spaces, and managing cleared personnel.
  • Strong understanding of quality assurance and testing processes for high-security products.
  • Exceptional leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to recruit, train, and manage a high-performing team.
  • Excellent project management skills, including the ability to manage complex timelines, budgets, and deliverables.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across internal teams and external partners.
  • Experience in IOS and AS9100 manufacturing environments
  • Requires active DoD Secret security clearance

Nice To Haves

  • MS degree preferred.
  • Top Secret clearance preferred.
  • Experience working with government agencies or defense contractors.
  • Familiarity with encryption technologies and secure communications systems.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements for classified environments (e.g., NISPOM).
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity standards and practices.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Advanced degree in engineering, manufacturing, or a related field.
  • Experience with RMA/Repair operations.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Planning: Develop and execute a comprehensive manufacturing strategy to support the production of secure communications devices.
  • Facility Development: Define requirements for classified assembly spaces, oversee facility design and construction, and ensure compliance with security protocols and requirements.
  • Process Design: Establish secure processes for receipt, storage, testing, assembly, certification, packaging, and shipment of sensitive components and finished products.
  • Team Leadership: Recruit, train, and manage a team of cleared personnel to execute manufacturing and RMA operations.
  • Supply Chain Management: Collaborate with teaming partners and suppliers to ensure secure end-to-end delivery of components and support services.
  • Testing and Certification: Support the design and implementation of assembly, test, and certification systems and process. Oversee testing and certification processes to ensure product integrity and compliance with security standards.
  • RMA/Repair: Manage the device repair and replacement process in coordination with Operations Support.
  • Quality Assurance: Implement rigorous quality control measures to detect and prevent tampering or defects.
  • Security Oversight: Ensure all manufacturing operations adhere to high-security standards, including classified workspaces and personnel clearances.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, product development, and external partners to ensure seamless integration of components and systems.
  • Reporting and Metrics: Develop and maintain reporting systems to track manufacturing performance, quality metrics, and production efficiency.
  • Budget and Timeline Management: Manage budgets, schedules, and resources to meet project milestones and deliverables.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to optimize manufacturing processes for efficiency, security, and scalability.
