About The Position

SiriusPoint is seeking a Director of Management and Professional Liability Claims to oversee all aspects of claims activities related to Management and Professional Liability. This role involves settlement processing and investigation of reported claims in compliance with insurance/reinsurance contracts, best practices, regulatory requirements, and company rules. The successful candidate will navigate a changing environment and contribute to the claims team by bringing technical acumen and experience in handling a variety of Management and Professional Liability portfolios. This position reports directly to the Head of Claims for MGU and Programs Claims.

Requirements

  • 7 to 10 years of experience handling Management and Professional Liability claims with authority of USD $250k or greater.
  • Significant knowledge and experience of the claims process within the insurance industry.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to operate independently within grants of authority and seek guidance when needed.
  • Strong communication skills to interact with senior executives and during meetings.
  • Ability to work strategically and collaboratively across departments.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills in English; additional languages are a plus.
  • Interest in knowledge sharing within the claims team.

Responsibilities

  • Provide oversight claims advocacy of Management and Professional Liability excess claims.
  • Analyze forms, policies, endorsements, and other documents to validate coverage.
  • Manage claims in litigation, focusing on reputational risk and preventing bad faith allegations.
  • Approve claims according to authority, company rules, and local regulatory requirements.
  • Advise the business on claims trends and loss mitigation across various functions.
  • Ensure accuracy and adequacy of claims reserving and coverage assessment.
  • Establish and maintain contacts with MGA and Program partners, brokers, and legal professionals regarding claims matters.
  • Treat customers fairly and professionally in all interactions.
  • Handle claims for public and private corporations, including non-profits.
  • Perform any other duties as reasonably required.
