Responsibilities: This role will provide corporate-wide technical leadership for progressive maintenance in a dynamic processing environment, across all divisions, drive overall asset reliability strategy and implement improvements needed to deliver operational excellence while increasing the technical skill level within the maintenance organization in a manner that will have a direct impact on safety, quality, efficiency, cost management, customer satisfaction, and innovation. The Director of Maintenance Engineering and Reliability will focus on coaching the maintenance organization across all three divisions on identification and resolution of abnormalities, identification, and completion of the right preventive maintenance to enable zero breakdowns and consequently improve equipment reliability. Coach/train and direct maintenance organizations on identification and resolution of equipment abnormalities and build a culture where maintenance resources proactively identify and address abnormalities before they become breakdowns. Institutionalize the culture of planned maintenance across our network of plants as well as putting in place the right governance. Institutionalize the use of Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to track maintenance activities within plants for tracking work orders, planned/predictive maintenance, spare parts inventory/sharing and MRO management. Leverage CMMS to improve spare parts management system to support planned and unplanned maintenance. Oversee Tool and Parts Cribs and associated processes at all three (3) divisions. Develop and coordinate the strategies that accelerate and improve current maintenance practices and processes to improve equipment performance, reliability, and lower overall maintenance costs. Initiate and manage the corporate maintenance programs based on best practices, with an emphasis on equipment criticality, time-based maintenance & condition-based maintenance, effective planning, and scheduling, completing high quality maintenance repairs, while factoring health and safety. Analyze operational data and equipment performance history to deliver improvements in critical maintenance related metrics including unplanned downtime, PM compliance, schedule compliance, mean time between failures, and maintenance related costs. Partner with HR leadership to develop criteria, testing protocol, and partnerships to accelerate the identification and hiring of highly skilled maintenance team members. Identifies technical training and development of maintenance talent throughout the organization; works with plant management to recommend training programs. Develop and deliver comprehensive maintenance and reliability training to maintenance staff; conduct workshops, and effectively measure results tied to activities that enhance the plant's equipment asset reliability. Leverage company subject matter experts to advance current maintenance and reliability efforts through enhanced communication and best practice sharing. This role will oversee and support maintenance & asset reliability at all three divisions of Indiana Packers Corporation. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in maintenance, engineering, or related field experience is required and progressive leadership roles within maintenance and engineering in-lieu of degree. 10+ years' experience within Maintenance and Engineering managerial role. Proven experience with progressive maintenance or total predictive maintenance programs is required. Experience leading a plant maintenance organization within an operations-based facility is required. Demonstrated success leading within a continuous improvement environment. Demonstrated ability to function effectively in a dynamic environment, with the personal leadership to influence and positively motivate self and their peers. Strong working knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). Familiarization with OSHA, USDA, and or FDA Standards. Must be available to travel, not to exceed 50% annually, with greater onsite presence needed during initial onboarding/acclimation process. Technical expertise in the maintenance area within a processing facility and a deep understanding of equipment, machinery, components, and their statuses (normal or abnormal). Extensive experience in leading asset reliability manufacturing performance in a fast-moving processing environment with exceptional results with a career that has encompassed technical, frontline, and mid-level management. Demonstrable and intuitive knowledge on fundamentals of good manufacturing practices, process improvement and optimization, reconfiguration of new or enhanced technology. Managing costs and variance, motivators and engagement levers for plant equipment performance, experience in TPM-Total Predictive Maintenance, 5S, Lean, CI and Six-sigma tools and concepts. Excellent communication (verbal & written), coaching, and leadership skills in a dynamic team-based environment. Demonstrated abilities in analytics, problem solving and team building with a strong financial & business acumen, project management skills and knowledge of industrial maintenance and manufacturing equipment. Experience in interfacing with key stakeholders and a high-level of capability around managing relationships and outcomes. Ability to work in a diverse workforce. Requirements
