About The Position

AirQuest Aviation is seeking an experienced and driven Director of Maintenance/ Accountable Manager to oversee our FAA Part 135 and 145 Repair Station operations. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring safe, compliant, and cost-effective maintenance operations while managing personnel, resources, and regulatory requirements. You will serve as the primary point of contact with the FAA and play a key role in maintaining operational excellence and certification standards.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate required; IA preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a certificated aircraft mechanic
  • At least 1 year of experience approving aircraft for return to service
  • Experience with FAA Part 145 regulations; Part 135 experience preferred
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
  • Knowledge of maintenance operations, budgeting, and business processes
  • This is a Safety Sensitive Position requiring work in a heavy manufacturing facility with various safety hazards which are potentially life-threatening to the employee.
  • This position may require working at heights, around heavy equipment, and under constantly changing circumstances.
  • This position will be subject to more stringent drug testing and compliance policies due to these safety risks.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all maintenance department operations, including personnel, scheduling, and production planning
  • Ensure compliance with FAA regulations, Operations Specifications, and Inspection Procedures Manual
  • Oversee repair station efficiency, cost control, and profitability
  • Supervise and develop maintenance personnel, including training and qualification programs
  • Plan manpower needs and long-term operational requirements
  • Approve aircraft for return to service as authorized
  • Coordinate maintenance scheduling for both scheduled and unscheduled work
  • Manage procurement, inventory, and materials control
  • Maintain current technical data, manuals, and airworthiness directives
  • Collaborate with Finance on budgeting and forecasting
  • Promote a strong safety culture and maintain a clean, organized facility
  • Serve as liaison with FAA and support audits and inspections
