The Director leads Maine Roads to Quality Professional Development Network (MRTQ PDN), a collaborative partnership serving the early childhood education (ECE) and out-of-school time (OST) systems across Maine. The Director aligns the work of PDN partners - the Center for Community Inclusion and Disability Studies (CCIDS) and the Maine Afterschool Network (MASN) - with contract deliverables and the mission, vision, and strategic goals of MRTQ PDN. The Director's major responsibilities include overseeing the strategic development, design, and implementation of MRTQ PDN activities; supervising project staff; and coordinating professional development activities with internal and external partners. In consultation with team leads and grants and contracts staff, the Director also develops and manages the project budget, including a detailed work plan, and monitors budget negotiations with state programmatic and budgetary staff. This position requires knowledge of the ECE and OST systems, experience with developing and monitoring budgets, and familiarity with strategic human resources management. The Director must demonstrate a commitment to collaborative leadership, shared decision-making, equity, and inclusion with a large, multi-faceted staff as well as to the implementation of the MRTQ PDN Strategic Plan. The Maine Roads to Quality Professional Development Network (MRTQ PDN) supports early childhood and out-of-school-time professionals in developing the expertise necessary to provide high quality, inclusive, and culturally responsive care to Maine's children. MRTQ PDN consists of a partnership with the Catherine Cutler Institute at the University of Southern Maine, the University of Maine Center for Community Inclusion and Disability Studies, and the Maine Afterschool Network.
