About The Position

A private equity-backed, rapidly growing residential and commercial field services business based in New York and servicing throughout the northeast, is seeking a Director of Integration. This leader will play a critical role in managing the full lifecycle of acquisitions through post-close integration, ensuring that new businesses are seamlessly aligned with the company's systems, processes, and culture. Reporting directly to senior leadership, this role will work cross-functionally to develop integration playbooks, oversee execution, and serve as the primary point of contact for acquired business owners and teams. This is a unique opportunity to help shape the future of a high-growth, acquisition-driven company by ensuring integrations are executed smoothly, cultural alignment is maintained, and operational synergies are captured. Geography This role requires time in the New York office, but a hybrid arrangement with Northeast-based candidates may be acceptable. Travel is expected at approximately 25-50% to support acquisition diligence and integration.

Requirements

  • 5-7 years of experience in a post-merger integration role.
  • Strong background in integrating small to medium-sized companies, particularly founder-led businesses.
  • Familiarity with service-based businesses. finance, accounting, HR, and back-office operations.
  • Experience working in a private equity-owned environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build trust quickly with internal leaders, equity partners, and business owners.
  • Passion for process, with exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously.
  • Hands-on, collaborative approach with a willingness to work across all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and project manage the integration process for newly acquired businesses.
  • Oversee and dig into the technology stack ensuring proper transition of phone lines, domain names, websites, sales system and ERP.
  • Collaborate with leadership during the due diligence process to understand each acquisition target's business, systems, and people while identifying integration complexities and opportunities for synergy.
  • Develop pre-closing and post-closing integration playbooks documenting processes, timelines, and responsibilities.
  • Partner with functional leaders and general managers to create and implement tailored integration plans.
  • Serve as project manager post-close, driving timely completion of 30/60/90-day integration objectives by functional area.
  • Proactively monitor progress, flag risks, and act as the first line of defense for issues or delays.
  • Meet with all acquired employees one on one, in person — including field service technicians — to ensure cultural alignment, clarity of roles, and smooth onboarding into the company.
  • Act as the primary point of contact and relationship manager with acquisition target owners and leadership throughout the integration process.
