Director of Logistics

FluidstackAustin, TX
12h$150,000 - $200,000

About The Position

At Fluidstack, we’re building the infrastructure for abundant intelligence. We partner with top AI labs, governments, and enterprises - including Mistral, Poolside, Black Forest Labs, Meta, and more - to unlock compute at the speed of light. We’re working with urgency to make AGI a reality. As such, our team is highly motivated and committed to delivering world-class infrastructure. We treat our customers’ outcomes as our own, taking pride in the systems we build and the trust we earn. If you’re motivated by purpose, obsessed with excellence, and ready to work very hard to accelerate the future of intelligence, join us in building what's next. About the Role We’re hiring a Logistics Lead to own the strategy and execution of how Fluidstack moves, stores, and delivers materials across its entire supply chain. You will define our transportation network design, select and manage 3PL/4PL partners, govern our warehousing strategy, and establish the standards that will scale both nationally and internationally. Building a supercomputer is a logistics problem: thousands of SKUs, multi-vendor and multi-national supply chains, global deployments, and client-designated materials with contractual custody requirements all arriving at the right time, in sequence, and without surprises. Your job is to build the plane while flying (or chartering) it. You will interface directly with Supply Chain, Program Management, Procurement, Finance, and onsite operations, and be the primary owner for everything that happens between PO release and on-site delivery. The right candidate has seen what speed at scale looks like and is ready to build it from scratch in a fast-moving, quickly-growing company where decisions compound.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in supply chain, logistics, or operations
  • Proven track record of designing and scaling logistics networks in a high-growth, hardware-intensive, or infrastructure deployment environment (hyperscaler, neocloud, large-scale construction, or equivalent).
  • Hands-on experience managing 3PL/4PL relationships: RFP/selection, SLA negotiation, KPI management, and performance improvement.
  • Deep command of freight modes and trade-offs: LTL, FTL, white-glove, air, and heavy haul for large or high-value equipment.
  • Experience building or overhauling warehouse operations: receiving standards, location control, cycle count programs, and inventory accuracy management.
  • Strong data discipline: proficiency in WMS/TMS systems (especially integration with NetSuite); able to build and own operational dashboards.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and cross-functional communication; comfortable operating without a defined playbook and making high-impact decisions under ambiguity.

Nice To Haves

  • Direct experience in datacenter, GPU, or server hardware logistics: white-glove freight, customs/import requirements for tech hardware, or site mobilization supply chains.
  • Familiarity with client-designated materials protocols, vendor-managed inventory, or custody governance for customer-owned GPU and compute hardware.
  • Experience standing up a logistics function from scratch, including tool selection, process design, and team hiring.
  • Background working with international freight: customs brokerage, Incoterms, and cross-border compliance for hardware shipments.

Responsibilities

  • Own Fluidstack’s transportation strategy across all modes (ocean, air, land) for the movement of DC equipment, servers, networking hardware, and associated materials to global datacenter sites.
  • Design lane and carrier strategies that balance cost, lead time, and risk across a multi-geography, multi-site deployment pipeline.
  • Evaluate, select, and manage carrier and freight forwarder relationships; negotiate rates and SLAs; hold partners accountable to performance metrics.
  • Build contingency routing and escalation protocols for time-critical or high-value shipments.
  • Define Fluidstack’s warehousing and fulfillment model: which capabilities to own vs. outsource, and how to structure 3PL/4PL relationships to support rapid site deployments across new geographies.
  • Select, onboard, and manage 3PL/4PL partners; establish SLAs, KPIs, and contractual accountability frameworks; drive continuous improvement across receiving accuracy, cycle count performance, throughput, and cost-per-unit.
  • Evaluate build vs. buy decisions for central warehouse capacity as Fluidstack’s site footprint expands.
  • Own operating standards for all Fluidstack-managed and 3PL-operated warehouse locations: receiving protocols, location control, storage rules, inventory segregation (company-owned vs. client-designated compute hardware), and cycle count cadences targeting greater than 99% inventory accuracy.
  • Establish custody governance for client-designated materials, including chain-of-custody documentation, audit trail requirements, and handoff protocols.
  • Own the master materials register: BOM-to-PO linkage, real-time status tracking from PO release through site delivery, and complete end-to-end visibility for all stakeholders.
  • Serve as the escalation owner for any in-transit, carrier, or documentation issue that threatens the project schedule.
  • Serve as the primary Supply Chain interface to Construction, Infrastructure, Program Management, Procurement, Finance/AP, and onsite operations; own logistics cost reporting, budget accountability, and the data our Accounting needs for accruals and 3-way match.
  • Drive ERP upgrades and our logistics platforms (including WMS/TMS) and build KPI dashboards that give leadership real-time operational visibility.

Benefits

  • Competitive total compensation package (salary + equity).
  • Retirement or pension plan, in line with local norms.
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Generous PTO policy, in line with local norms.
