Director of Literacy Responsibilities Amplify and Phonics Implementation Create, in collaboration with the network leadership team, the literacy strategic plan to achieve our ambitious literacy goals; Ensure the successful implementation of the Amplify and phonics curriculum across the network; Provide literacy curriculum support and training for all teachers and leaders; Observe classrooms, conduct walkthroughs, live coach teachers and leaders, and facilitate leadership professional development around lower school literacy Model teach and coach instructional methods in a variety of settings with teachers and leaders (whole group, small group, individually, during grade level meetings, department meetings, etc); Oversee TEA required Reading Academies program; Oversee the implementation of vertical and horizontal collaborative instructional planning Literacy Data Analysis and Action Planning Facilitate assessment action planning using a variety of measures to determine appropriate placement and specific instructional needs; Disaggregate and analyze student data to inform instruction, “just in time” interventions, and teacher practice; Collaborate with SpED, ESL, and EB teachers and leaders to ensure all students are reading on grade level including providing flexible grouping interventions based on data analysis; Work with teachers and leaders to analyze data and make adjustments to curriculum and instruction; Present data findings and action steps to the network leadership team and board members, as needed TEA Data Fellow Weekly/Bi-Weekly LEA meetings with LEA’s RSSP Lead, team, and technical assistance provider (and ad hoc meetings as LEA’s RSSP lead designates) Bi-weekly/Monthly Data Fellow FTE PLC Sessions Monthly Check-Ins with LEA’s RSSP Lead and TEA’s RSSP Team 3x Year Improvement Reviews Work to support the district and complete all assurances outside of meeting times listed above Optional Monthly/Bi-Monthly Office Hours, Data Fellow Collaboration Opportunities, and Additional Professional Learning Opportunities Any new mandated expectations from TEA for Data Fellows Goals 80% or more of students are reading on grade level in grades K - 4 90% of teachers report that they have the skills to successfully implement the Amplify and phonics program 100% of leaders report that they have the skills to support teachers in their implementation of Amplify and phonics program Support all teachers and leaders in meeting our internal academic goals around ELA including exceeding 80/40/20 on all ELA STAAR assessments; We look for team members that embody our REACH values.
