About The Position

The Director of Learning & Development at Birchstone Residential provides enterprise-level leadership for the strategy, design, and execution of learning and development initiatives that elevate leadership effectiveness, operational excellence, and organizational performance across a growing multifamily portfolio. This role serves as a strategic partner to executive and senior leadership, shaping the capabilities, mindset, and culture required to support Birchstone’s growth and business objectives. As a steward of Birchstone Residential’s People First philosophy, the Director of Learning & Development drives a culture of continuous learning and development by aligning talent strategies with business priorities, advancing leadership capability at all levels, and supporting enterprise-wide transformation through targeted learning, upskilling, and organizational development initiatives. The ideal candidate is a visionary and results-oriented learning leader with deep expertise in adult learning, leadership development, facilitation, and instructional design, complemented by strong business acumen and experience supporting both multifamily property operations and corporate functions.

Requirements

  • ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Design, implement, and continuously evolve leadership development programs for people leaders at all levels, supporting succession planning and internal mobility.
  • Develop and lead the enterprise Learning & Development strategy that advances multifamily operational capability, leadership effectiveness, and organizational performance across the company.
  • Partner with executive and senior leadership to assess current and future capability needs and translate business strategy into scalable learning solutions.
  • Establish and govern management and functional training frameworks aligned with operational standards, financial performance, and service excellence.
  • Provide strategic oversight of customer-facing and operational training programs that support adoption and effective use of property management, financial, and data analytics platforms.
  • Establish metrics, dashboards, and evaluation methods to measure learning effectiveness, return on investment, and organizational impact.
  • Apply adult learning theory and best-in-class instructional design methodologies to ensure learning experiences are engaging, practical, and measurable.
  • Personally facilitate high-impact leadership sessions, workshops, and executive learning experiences as needed.
  • Build and steward a Learning & Development organization that develops talent, strengthens leadership capability, and scales with Birchstone’s growth.
  • erve as a trusted advisor to business leaders during organizational change initiatives, supporting transformation through learning, upskilling, and behavioral reinforcement.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Operations, Asset Management, Marketing, Systems, Accounting, People Support, and Technology to ensure learning initiatives remain aligned with enterprise priorities.
  • Drive consistency and quality across all learning content, delivery channels, and learning platforms.
  • Identify and leverage innovative learning technologies and delivery models to scale learning across a geographically dispersed portfolio.
  • Champion a culture of continuous learning, accountability, and leadership excellence aligned with Birchstone Residential’s People First values.
  • Ensure learning and development practices remain compliant, inclusive, and aligned with industry best practices and evolving workforce needs.
