About The Position

The Department of Information Systems and Operations Management (ISOM) welcomes applications from accomplished professionals to lead the Kent C. “Oz” Nelson Logistics and Supply Chain Management Center for Excellence, beginning October 2025 (or upon mutual agreement). We seek a dynamic, forward-thinking leader with a Master's degree in Operations Management, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Decision Sciences, Business Administration, or a related field, coupled with at least five years of professional experience in these areas. Ideal candidates will bring industry expertise, a strong network of professional connections, and a proven ability to build academic programs, foster corporate partnerships, and develop innovative curricula. Professional certifications in logistics, supply chain, or quality management are highly valued. This exciting opportunity will shape the future of logistics and supply chain education while driving impactful collaboration between academia and industry.

Requirements

  • Earned Master's degree in Operations Management, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Decision Sciences, Business Administration, or a related area by date of appointment.
  • Five years working experience in Operations Management, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Decision Sciences, or related areas.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree with related professional certifications, such as logistics and supply chain, quality management, etc.
  • A strong network of industry contacts.
  • Experience in course or curriculum development and delivery.
  • A track record of building academic programs and/or corporate partnerships.
  • Established connections in the logistics field.

Responsibilities

  • Provide vision and leadership to the Center.
  • Define the strategic goals.
  • Develop curriculum.
  • Build enrollment and engage with students.
  • Develop and nurture industry contacts and an advisory board.
  • Network with alumni.
  • Encourage internships and experiential learning opportunities.
  • Teach six credit hours each fall and spring semester in relevant courses.
  • Mentor students and engage with the community.
  • Expand and sustain the LSCM advisory board and organize meetings and events.
  • Guide the LSCM Association for Supply Chain Management student organization.
  • Collaborate with faculty, businesses, and advisory board members to develop student capstone projects.
  • Develop partnerships and foster relationships for fundraising and promotion of the LSCM program.
  • Prepare ad hoc reports for internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Participate with other faculty to develop new content and curriculum.
  • Promote the LSCM program to potential students.
  • Attend department and college meetings and serve on committees.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
