About The Position

Piper Companies is seeking an experienced Director of Infrastructure to lead enterprise infrastructure operations across cloud and on-prem environments. This hybrid role is based in Frederick, MD, with onsite work required 3 days per week.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
15+ years in infrastructure, 5+ years in leadership and people management
3+ years of experience with public cloud (Azure preferred)
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
Proven success managing $5M+ budgets and delivering infrastructure outcomes

Nice To Haves

Technical certifications preferred (e.g., MSCE, CCNA, CISSP, ITIL)

Responsibilities

Lead infrastructure strategy and transformation across Microsoft Azure and on-prem data centers
Own infrastructure architecture, future-state planning, and execution
Manage systems, networks, storage, virtualization, and data center operations
Collaborate with Cyber Security and Application Engineering teams on technology alignment
Oversee vendor relationships and ensure compliance with SLAs and corporate policies
Develop and manage infrastructure budgets and capacity planning
Lead and mentor a team of 10-15 staff using Agile Scrum methodologies
Ensure service excellence, risk mitigation, and regulatory compliance
Drive modernization, automation, and proactive monitoring initiatives
Support strategic planning and technical debt remediation
