About The Position

The Director of IT Infrastructure at Hunt Electric Corporation is a pivotal role responsible for leading and managing the company's IT infrastructure operations. This position ensures the availability, reliability, and scalability of all IT systems, aligning technology initiatives with business objectives. The Director will engage in strategic planning and execution of initiatives aimed at maintaining and enhancing the company's technology infrastructure. This role offers a hybrid work schedule, requiring three days in-person attendance at the Bloomington, MN office and two days of remote work each week. In terms of leadership and strategy, the Director will develop and implement the IT infrastructure strategy, ensuring it aligns with the overall IT and business strategies of the company. This includes leading, mentoring, and managing the IT infrastructure team, which consists of network engineers, system administrators, and other IT staff. The Director will also establish and enforce IT infrastructure policies, procedures, and standards to ensure operational excellence. The role encompasses infrastructure management, where the Director will oversee the management, maintenance, and optimization of data centers, networks, servers, storage systems, and other IT infrastructure components. Ensuring high availability, performance, and security of all IT infrastructure systems is critical, as is managing disaster recovery and business continuity planning. Project management is another key responsibility, requiring the Director to plan, prioritize, and manage IT infrastructure projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget. Collaboration with other departments to understand their infrastructure needs and develop appropriate solutions is essential. The Director will also oversee the implementation of new technologies and systems, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations. Security and compliance are paramount, with the Director ensuring that the IT infrastructure complies with relevant security standards and regulatory requirements. This includes implementing and maintaining cybersecurity measures to protect the organization's data and systems, as well as conducting regular risk assessments and audits of the IT infrastructure. Vendor and budget management are also part of the role, where the Director will manage relationships with IT vendors, service providers, and consultants, negotiate contracts and service level agreements (SLAs), and develop and manage the IT infrastructure budget to ensure cost-effective resource use. Finally, the Director will drive innovation and continuous improvement by staying current with emerging technologies and industry trends, evaluating and recommending new technologies to enhance IT infrastructure efficiency and effectiveness, and leading continuous improvement initiatives to boost performance and reliability.
