About The Position

IT Director Enterprise Architecture will be responsible for leading the strategy, design, and execution of SAP ERP and Integration Supply Chain (ISC) transformations, with a focus on migrating from SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA. This role will play a critical part in shaping the future ERP and ISC landscape by defining best-in-class architecture and ensuring that the migration process aligns with enterprise standards and business objectives. The leader will collaborate with global IT, business stakeholders, and technical teams to deliver scalable, secure, and efficient solutions that meet current and future business needs. Strong expertise in SAP, particularly in S/4HANA, and proven leadership in large-scale ERP migrations are essential. You will report to Senior Director – Applications Enterprise Architecture and you’ll work out of our USA location in Charlotte on a hybrid work schedule with at least 3 days a week onsite. Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in architecture and development, designing and architecting SAP with at least 5 years focusing on SAP ERP solutions.
  • Strong background in SAP modules (e.g., FI, CO, MM, SD) and integration with other enterprise systems.
  • 5+ years of experience in developing ERP related solutions including ABAP coding, functional configuration, Hana etc.
  • Expertise in SAP S/4HANA architecture, SAP HANA database, SAP Fiori, and integration with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
  • Deep understanding of SAP ERP solutions, including system design, configuration, and optimization in complex, multi-module environments.
  • Experience with SAP Activate methodology, SAP migration tools (SUM, DMO, etc.), and cloud-based ERP solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of SAP data management and reporting tools (e.g., SAP BW, SAP Analytics Cloud).
  • Outstanding leadership skills with the ability to inspire and mentor solution architects & system engineers, fostering their professional growth and development.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to make critical decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with stakeholders at all levels.

Responsibilities

  • SAP ERP and ISC Architecture Strategy: Lead the architecture strategy for SAP ERP and ISC solutions, with a focus on the transition from SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA including re-consideration of non-SAP apps like Kinaxis
  • Define and implement enterprise architecture standards, principles, and best practices for SAP and ISC environments to ensure alignment with business objectives and IT governance.
  • Provide strategic guidance to stakeholders on SAP and ISC architecture, including system design, scalability, and performance optimization.
  • SAP ECC to S/4HANA Migration: Drive the end-to-end migration strategy from SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA, including planning, design, and execution.
  • Ensure successful integration of new solutions, modules, and services as part of the migration, while minimizing disruption to business operations.
  • Evaluate the use of SAP Fiori, SAP HANA database optimizations, and cloud-based deployments as part of the migration strategy.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with business and technical leaders to ensure the ERP strategy aligns with the organization's goals, operational needs, and long-term digital transformation initiatives.
  • Communicate complex architecture decisions and technical concepts to senior business stakeholders, justifying the technical roadmap and securing buy-in.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth execution of the migration and continuous optimization of SAP systems.
  • Leadership & Team Development: Lead and mentor a team of architects, and early career hires, ensuring they have the skills and resources necessary to deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Establish strong working relationships across IT, finance, procurement, supply chain, and other business areas to ensure architecture solutions meet both functional and technical needs.
  • Drive continuous improvement in architectural practices and promote knowledge-sharing across the enterprise.
  • Risk Management & Compliance: Ensure all SAP solutions are designed and implemented in compliance with enterprise risk management, security standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Anticipate and mitigate potential risks during the migration process, including technical, operational, and business risks.
  • Performance Optimization & Continuous Improvement: Implement performance metrics to monitor the health and effectiveness of SAP systems post-migration, ensuring the ERP environment is optimized for both performance and cost-efficiency.
  • Advocate for ongoing process improvements, leveraging new SAP technologies and innovations to drive business value.
  • Support implementation of Enterprise Architecture tool to capture KPIs related to digital experience business solutions to allow leaders insights into strategic investment linked to top business priorities and enable architects to build actional architecture artifacts
  • Technology and Industry Trends: Stay updated with emerging SAP technologies and industry trends, including AI, GenAI, IoT, machine learning, and analytics, and evaluate their potential impact on the organization’s ERP landscape.
  • Lead the organization in adopting new capabilities that can enhance SAP’s value and contribute to overall business agility and growth.
