About The Position

Requirements

  • Evidence of relevant continuing professional education and affiliations with professional organizations (NAFSA, AIEA, IIE, AIRC, ACPA, NASPA)
  • Current knowledge of federal visa regulations
  • Proven leadership in faculty and staff professional development in relation to international education
  • International travel experience.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary International Student Advisor and Principal Designated School Official (PDSO).
  • Ensure compliance with immigration laws and policies for F-1 students and their dependents.
  • Issue and sign forms I-20 and assist with immigration matters.
  • Oversee the work of Immigration Specialists (ISAs).
  • Develop and revise immigration-related policies and procedures for the Office of International Student Services (OISS).
  • Administer processes for data collection, storage, and reporting for international students.
  • Train newly hired Designated School Officials (DSOs) and keep current DSOs informed of regulatory changes.
  • Represent the university to US and foreign government agencies on international issues.
  • Collaborate with the Coordinator of International Programming on campus activities for international students.
  • Assist in resolving concerns involving international students and develop initiatives based on trends and needs.
