About The Position

The Director of IOP/Next Steps provides high-level oversight and strategic leadership of Achieve’s intensive outpatient services for women. This role ensures program integrity, staff support, and alignment with Achieve’s mission, while delegating the day-to-day flow of operations to program leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise IOP/Next Steps leadership team (Assistant Director, Clinical Administrator, Heads of DBT Coaching, Psych Rehab, Navigation).
  • Safeguard program development, structure, curriculum, and overall integrity.
  • Problem-solve and fine-tune program areas where challenges arise, supporting continued development and adaptation for high-risk clients.
  • Guide staff training plans and professional development.
  • Final oversight and decisions on admissions (with Medical Director + Assistant Director).
  • Serve as senior escalation point for clinical leadership questions.
  • Supervise and consult on complex/high-risk cases.
  • Co-lead at least one therapy group
  • Step in on very high-acuity cases (e.g., suicidality, family crises, multistakeholder interventions).
  • Facilitate treatment planning or larger intervention sessions with client and team when needed.
  • Assess staffing needs with Assistant Director; report to Clinical Director.
  • Ensure systems for after-hours supervision rotation and daytime coverage.
  • Step in clinically for crises when required, while strengthening sustainable systems.
  • Foster a calm, supportive, structured environment for staff and clients.
  • Monitor staff satisfaction and input (e.g., surveys).
  • Maintain a culture of optimism, collaboration, and resilience.
  • Ensure weekly rounding and consultation meetings are held (led by admin/lead staff), and provide supervision during these meetings.
  • Meet regularly with the admin team and supervise direct reports (Assistant Director, Clinical Admin, service heads).
  • Provide ad hoc supervision and touch points with leadership staff as issues arise.
  • Hold periodic check-ins with Psychiatry and Nursing.
  • Join service department meetings as needed.
  • Policies & Guidelines → Develop/refine program policies and guidelines; Ongoing updates delegated to Assistant Director and Clinical Admin.
  • Scorecards → Oversee systems and procedures; continued collaboration with Head Navigator.
  • Training Systems → Oversee staff training and ensure program efficiency (skills integration, crisis training, systems/protocols). Assistant Director takes lead; service heads contribute. Director provides consult and occasional in vivo modeling at complex junctions.
  • Next Steps Development → Support growth of Next Steps through creative ways to strengthen its presence and leadership as admin team shifts (Assistant Director and service heads).
  • Documentation & Protocols → Ensure all key materials are completed, finalized, and shared with staff
