Cypress Creek Hospital is a free-standing 128-bed, acute care psychiatric hospital located in north Houston, TX, and minutes south of The Woodlands. Cypress Creek Hospital features individual units for adolescents and adults and offers inpatient acute care, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient programs. Intake Director Position Summary: The Director of Intake is accountable for the oversight and direction of the hospital’s Admissions Department. As a clinician, this position provides direction to a staff of specialists in the provision of patient access to care and behavioral health assessment services, including call management, clinical evaluations for level of care, crisis intervention, admissions and referrals. This position interfaces closely with the hospital’s medical staff, nursing staff, fellow department heads, and administration, as well as external referring agencies and payers. The Intake Director is responsible for the department’s budget, policies and procedures, regulatory compliance, service excellence, and data management/analysis. In addition, the Intake Director participates with the senior leadership team in the development and management of processes related to the hospital’s strategic goals. The Director of Intake reports directly to the hospital’s CEO.

Requirements

  • A minimum of four (3) years direct clinical experience in a psychiatric or mental health setting required.
  • Working knowledge of the Addiction & Recovery field and experience in clinical interviewing, patient assessment, family motivation, treatment planning, communicating with external review organizations or comparable entities, and working effectively with people of diverse backgrounds.
  • Minimum two (2) years leadership experience managing a related function.
  • Must have strong management skills with ability to effectively communicate with staff, ensuring proper employee performance management.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing, mental health/behavioral sciences, or related field required
  • Current Texas License as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • CPR, Handle with Care and Verbal De-Escalation Training (Can be obtained upon hire)
  • Texas Driver's License
