Interested in joining us on our journey? The Director of Insurance and Risk Management (“The Director”) is responsible for leading the Company’s insurance portfolio and risk mitigation strategies. This position oversees complex insurance programs, drives insurance marketing initiatives, cultivates professional relationships with underwriters and brokers, and engages in business continuity planning. The Director communicates regularly with senior leadership and external stakeholders to align insurance risk management practices with organizational objectives. The Director also provides oversight and coordination of all insurance claims and manages the Company’s Third Party Claims administrator. This position reports to the Deputy General Counsel, Litigation and Risk Management within the Legal Department.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required, in Risk Management, Insurance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in insurance and risk management, with demonstrated expertise in complex insurance programs, insurance marketing, and business continuity planning.
  • Exceptional communication skills for executive-level presentations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including interpreting complex data and making strategic decisions.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional efforts and manage external partnerships.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for cultivating professional relationships with underwriters, brokers, and internal stakeholders.

Nice To Haves

  • CPCU, ARM, CRM or equivalent professional certifications strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Complex Insurance Program Management: Develop, implement, and oversee complex insurance programs, including but not limited to property and excess liability.
  • Insurance Marketing: Lead insurance marketing efforts to secure optimal coverage.
  • Underwriter/Broker Relationships: Establish and maintain strong professional relationships with underwriters and brokers.
  • Executive Communication: Present complex insurance and risk matters to senior/executive leadership, providing clear recommendations and actionable insights.
  • Risk Analysis and Reporting: Identify, assess, and report on risks, while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Business Continuity Planning: Coordinate with internal stakeholders in the design and maintenance of business continuity plans.
  • Claims Management – Provide oversight and coordination of all insurance claims, including but not limited to workers’ compensation claims, auto liability claims, and general liability claims; and manage the Company’s Third Party Claims administrator.
