About The Position

The Director of Institutional Research & Analytics will lead the Office of Institutional Research & Analytics (OIRA) at Harvard University, providing institutional data analysis and reporting to support the university's leadership. This role involves directing strategic analytics projects, managing the Institutional Research and Strategic Analytics teams, and collaborating with stakeholders across the university to enhance data integration and reporting efficiency.

Requirements

  • Master's degree or equivalent.
  • 8+ years of experience working as a data analytics and/or institutional research leader.
  • Strong understanding of data management, quantitative and qualitative methodologies, and data communication strategies.
  • Experience leading and managing consulting projects across various stakeholders and clients.
  • Knowledge of data security, privacy, and compliance regulations.

  • Experience working with executive leadership and technology teams at large, complex higher education institutions.
  • Strong ability to develop a strategic vision and influence stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of a portfolio of strategic analytics projects for the University.
  • Direct the office's institutional reporting function and manage both the Institutional Research and Strategic Analytics teams.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders on institutional research, survey, and analytics consulting projects.
  • Oversee the reporting function of OIRA to ensure timely responses to data requests.
  • Create and maintain an effective learning and development approach for the OIRA team.
  • Serve as a leader for the University on analytics best practices and methodologies.
