About The Position

As the Director of Installations, you will help shape the way we manage, organize, and budget TEG Projects - New Store Opens (NSOs), Renovations, and Special Projects. This position will be primarily responsible for upholding HQ and Department Policies and Standards while overseeing the workflow of a growing team of 12+ employees within the key functions of Project Management & Tech Installation and an ever-increasing list of external contractors/vendors.

Requirements

  • A passion for escape rooms and experiential entertainment
  • 3+ years of project management experience
  • 3+ years managing a team of 5 direct reports
  • Experience with individual project budgets up to $500k, Multi-project budgets totaling over $1.5m
  • Bachelor’s and Master’s education preferred, or in place of a degree, 6+ years of relevant experience.
  • Software experience: MacOS, GSuite, Monday, Smartsheet, Revvit, Drawboard
  • Intermediate-to-advanced spreadsheet skills (vlookups, pivot tables, etc.)
  • Relevant industries: Construction, Fabrication, Retail, Entertainment, Tradeshows & Exhibits
  • A love for escape rooms and interactive media
  • Contagiously positive, can-do attitude

  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Strong communication skills - written, on the phone, in-person
  • Experience leading others in an informal structure

Responsibilities

  • Lead and align team members on TEG’s mission, vision, values, and annual initiatives set by the Executive Team.
  • Track and measure team member performance through KPIs (Budget Excellence/wins, Cost Savings YOY, Install Timelines, Creative Improvements, etc) set at the Executive-level.
  • Report Performance Monthly in Executive Check-ins.
  • Identify areas of underperformance, inefficiencies, and non-scalable systems and develop plans for improvement/resolution.
  • Identify systemic issues and take initiative to solve them.
  • Hire enthusiastic, self-motivated, competent brand ambassadors for The Escape Game.
  • Develop and set training standards for onboarding by actively seeking opportunities to further each team member’s knowledge and training.
  • Manage Team Resources: Scheduling, Time Approvals, PTO and Rest Time approvals, Expense Approvals, etc.
  • Coach the team members with CGP and ensure any coaching & correct is documented properly. Terminations as necessary
  • Ensure team leaders are hosting regular check-ins with each team member.
  • Personally Perform Monthly 1on1s with Team Members as needed.
  • Assist in the development and oversight of internal department policies and procedures
  • Oversee vendor relationships and processes
  • Enthusiastically implement new company initiatives, strategies, policies, and training programs.
  • Project planning - including scheduling, vendor coordination, budgeting, tracking/reporting, and project communications
  • On-site management and coordination of load-in, installation, punch, and load-out
  • Reviews floor plans and elevations and provides feedback to architects, contractors, and production teams on site-specific details impacting gameplay and installation
  • Develops, modifies, and reviews project planning, tracking, and reporting tools/documents
  • Provides routine updates to a variety of project stakeholders
  • Identifies problems and proposes solutions; continually improves

  • Create the initial wire plan during the prewire for new stores while keeping in line with TEG standards
  • Wire Paths, J-hook Placements, etc
  • Review plansets and perform on-site callouts for electrical plan issues
  • Lead other assigned members of the tech team and contracted vendors on assigned projects
  • Book travel and order materials for assigned projects
  • Ensure travel packouts are restocked upon returning from a trip
  • Organize and sort returning tech project items
  • Provide detailed kickoff documentation for assigned Projects
  • Travel Plan, Wiring Sheet, Camera / Speaker Layouts, etc.
  • Generate daily work-flow / assignments for onsite
  • Set a daily schedule for all technicians on-site
  • Host and take notes during a project debrief meeting
  • Maintain and coordinate the execution of the list of necessary post-project action items generated from the aforementioned debrief meeting
  • Communicate tech daily progress, concerns, and needs to the site-pm and leadership
