General position summary: The Director of Innovation is responsible for driving the organization’s innovation strategy, fostering a culture of creativity, and implementing transformative technologies that align with business objectives. This role serves as a strategic leader, ensuring that innovative initiatives deliver measurable value, reduce total cost of ownership and competitive advantages.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Technology, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 8+ years of experience in innovation, technology strategy, or digital transformation.
  • Proven track record of leading cross-functional teams and delivering complex projects.
  • Strong logistics and technology acumen and consultative approach.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and presentation skills.
  • Deep understanding of emerging technologies, automation, and process improvement.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, and the ability to learn and effectively use software applications such as move management, accounting/billing, HRIS, timekeeping and other applications used in the performance of job duties.
  • Ability to prioritize and re-prioritize as situations and needs change throughout the workday
  • Ability to multi-task and organize workflow to manage daily responsibilities, meet deadlines and prioritize work

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership Develop and execute the enterprise innovation roadmap aligned with corporate goals.
  • Identify emerging technologies and trends to enhance business performance.
  • Establish governance frameworks for innovation programs.
  • Technology & Business Integration Collaborate with business units to translate requirements into innovative solutions.
  • Oversee technology roadmaps and ensure ROI on innovation investments.
  • Drive adoption of automation, AI, and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Partner and or facilitate with external stakeholder, educational institutions, third-party partner programs to ensure collaboration, knowledge/best practice sharing and industry marketing alignment.
  • Program & Project Management Create and present Executive Level Presentations with quantifiable metrics and status and risk management.
  • Supervise cross-functional teams comprising Innovation Analysts, Business Analysts, Product Owners, and Project Managers.
  • Oversee budgets, schedules, and deliverable outcomes for innovative initiatives.
  • Ensure adherence to PMO standards and established organizational methodologies.
  • Culture & Collaboration Promote a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Implement centralized tools for idea management and backlog tracking.
  • Provide training and support for innovative processes and tools.
  • Evaluation & Adoption Monitor market trends and assess emerging technologies for integration.
  • Develop feedback mechanisms to refine innovation strategies.
  • Ensure scalability and sustainability of implemented solutions.
  • Stakeholder Engagement Act as a liaison between technology teams and business stakeholders.
  • Communicate innovation vision and progress to executive leadership.
  • Advocate value-driven solutions that enhance operational efficiency.
