The Director of Information Technology (IT) provides strategic leadership and direction for the IT functions of a national electrical construction contractor. This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of technology use within the company, including infrastructure, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, systems implementation, AV, and user support. The Director ensures that IT operations align with the company's goals, delivering secure, efficient, and innovative technology solutions.

  • Leads IT department in developing and executing strategic plans aligned with business objectives
  • Oversees implementation, support, and maintenance of all IT systems including hardware, software, voice, data, AV, and internet services
  • Directs development and enforcement of IT policies, procedures, and standards, including cybersecurity protocols and data protection practices
  • Manages IT budget, cost allocation, and procurement processes ensuring fiscal responsibility and ROI
  • Evaluates current systems and recommend future technology solutions to improve business performance
  • Oversees integration and management of artificial intelligence tools and resources
  • Ensures integrity, legality, and security of company data through robust internal controls and compliance measures
  • Supervises IT teams including Desktop Support, IT Engineering, and Data Innovation, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement
  • Serves as technical liaison for internal departments, external clients, and community partners
  • Plans and manages all software licensing, renewals, and vendor relationships
  • Monitors and reports on IT performance metrics, taking corrective actions, as needed
  • Stays current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices through professional development and networking
  • Proven experience in IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, networking, and enterprise systems
  • Strong knowledge of AI applications in business environments
  • Demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional teams and complex projects
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
  • Experience with budget planning and cost control in technology environment
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Five or more years' progressive IT leadership experience, preferably within the construction industry or related industries
  • Familiarity with construction industry software and systems, preferred
  • Certifications in networking, security, and cloud, preferred
  • Experience with cloud computing, ERP systems, and mobile workforce technologies, preferred
