About The Position
The Virginia Department of Emergency Management (VDEM) is seeking qualified and motivated candidates for the Director of Information Technology position. The Director of Information Technology plays a critical role in leading a cross-functional strategic program focused on achieving improved business outcomes and the organizational maturation of VDEM. This position leads VDEM activities in developing and implementing its agency IT strategic plan and directs tactical planning activities. This position reports to the Deputy State Coordinator, Chief Financial and Administrative Officer. It will support effective technology, planning, and business improvement in all agency business units to promote improved objectives and innovative outcomes. This position also manages and drives a high-performing solutions group using a continuous improvement culture with a combination of individual and group goal setting, project and support metrics, system development lifecycle processes and standards, and demand management.
