About The Position

The Senior Director for Fostering Inclusive Connections at Washington & Jefferson College is a pivotal role within the Vice President of Student Life & Dean of Students team. This inaugural position focuses on enhancing connections among students, alumni, and the college through affinity-based programming that supports all phases of the student lifecycle. The Director will lead initiatives aimed at fostering inclusive connections, oversee summer leadership programs, and collaborate on institutional strategies to ensure representation and support for diverse student communities.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in higher education or related field required.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in higher education.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills.
  • Experience with program development, implementation, and assessment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with all campus constituents and represent the college to external organizations.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a consultant to cultural student organizations and advise senior leadership on strategy and capacity building efforts.
  • Lead initiatives aimed at building opportunities for affinity-based connections among students.
  • Foster collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders to advance student connections.
  • Manage sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism, ensuring compliance with college policies and applicable laws.
  • Lead the Bias Response Team and provide consultation on matters related to bias incidents as needed.
  • Identify, coordinate, and maintain strategic relationships throughout the W&J campus.
  • Develop and implement programs and initiatives that support the college's commitment to all students throughout their lifecycle.
  • Monitor key performance indicators to measure the effectiveness of strategic initiatives and programs.
  • Develop initiatives to support greater connection for affinity student/alumni populations.
