Director of Implementation

About The Position

The Director of Implementation owns the end-to-end client implementation experience—from contract handoff to go-live and early success. This role leads and develops a team of Implementation Managers while also rolling up sleeves on complex, high-value, or high-risk implementations. This is not a “sit in meetings and review decks” job. You will actively manage implementations, troubleshoot ATS and career site integrations, and raise the bar on how implementation is delivered across the business.

Requirements

  • 7–10+ years of SaaS implementation experience, preferably in HR tech, recruitment marketing, ATS, or career site platforms.
  • 3+ years managing implementation or client-facing delivery teams.
  • Hands-on experience implementing or integrating with ATS platforms (e.g., iCIMS, Greenhouse, Workday, Taleo, Lever, etc.).
  • Strong project management instincts—organized, decisive, and allergic to missed deadlines.
  • Proven ability to balance strategic leadership with tactical execution.
  • Comfortable delivering hard truths with empathy (clients and internal teams alike).

Responsibilities

  • Own implementation strategy, execution quality, and timelines across all client segments.
  • Act as a senior escalation point for complex implementations, integrations, and at-risk accounts.
  • Personally lead implementations for enterprise clients or non-standard deployments involving ATS, career sites, or custom workflows.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Implementation Managers.
  • Set clear performance expectations tied to delivery quality, timelines, and client outcomes.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and actively build bench strength.
  • Partner with Sales and Client Management teams to ensure clean handoffs and realistic implementation commitments.
  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering on integrations, technical limitations, and roadmap feedback.
  • Translate recurring implementation challenges into actionable internal improvements.
  • Standardize implementation frameworks while allowing flexibility for client-specific needs.
  • Define and track KPIs related to time-to-live, adoption readiness, and implementation health.
  • Continuously improve tooling, documentation, and training materials.
  • Set and reinforce clear expectations with clients at executive and operational levels.
  • Proactively manage risk, scope, and timeline changes before they become problems.
  • Ensure clients leave implementation confident, enabled, and ready to scale.
