About The Position

The Director of Imaging Services is responsible to direct radiology services by providing short and long-range planning, establishing standards of quality, productivity and performance, formulation of goals and policies, assignment of responsibilities, the monitoring of and accomplishment of goals and financial performance, as well as assessing the unique contribution of each business line so as to maximize individual potential. The Director of Imaging Services works closely with the medical directors and radiologists as well as the supervisors of each business line (or modality) in establishing the operational targets. In addition, all are involved in assessing that Radiology Services provides appropriate and quality services to clients and patients and asses this on a periodic basis.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree required.
  • Effective 4/01/2024: Upon hire or within 12 months of start date, must complete and maintain a nationally ANCC-recognized nursing leadership or nursing specialty certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Eight to ten years supervisory experience preferred.
  • Master's degree required within 5 years.

Responsibilities

  • Acts as liaison between physicians and other hospital departments to help resolve and troubleshoot problems.
  • Administers plans and monitors approved programs which provide radiology services to other units and client locations.
  • Conducts competitor analyses to determine program growth and market share and to keep abreast of any trends or changes.
  • Continually monitors the service line growth and maintenance and recommends marketing strategies.
  • Coordination and administration of all operational aspects.
  • Development and implementation of long and short-range plans to ensure continued service line success and consistency.
  • Development and implementation of policies, procedures and standards which follow quality management, regulatory agency, IDPH, IDNS, and FDA guidelines.
  • Development and ongoing maintenance of collaborative relationships to meet program objectives.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with physicians, as well as other hospital manager/directors and staff.
  • Develops and maintains various relationships with external clients/contacts to promote and ensure department growth.
  • Develops contractual agreements for off-site radiology services and manages those operations.
  • Facilitates and oversees the quality management programs for the product line to assure adherence to corporate standards and regulatory agency requirements.
  • Identifies areas for operations efficiency improvement and implements changes.
  • Leads strategic planning, marketing and new program development efforts.
  • Manages and provides leadership in financial matters regarding budgeting and cost control and revenue generation.
  • Monitors department's productivity levels and work functions to ensure efficient operations, proper staffing levels and resource utilization.
  • Oversees services provided to external organizations and hospital product lines.
  • Participates and contributes to assigned committees, teams, task forces, including community service, if applicable.
  • Plans and directs the administrative and operational functions to maximize patient revenues, attract new patients and meet regulatory requirements.
  • Provides direct patient care as needed.
  • Provides leadership and direction for ensuring quality patient care.
  • Provides leadership and direction for improving patient/customer satisfaction.
  • Review and maintains a variety of statistical and performance reports which reflect department activities.
