About The Position

Reporting to the Chief Nursing Officer, this position has 24-hour responsibility for overall operation of one or more nursing departments. Plans, organizes, directs, maintains and evaluates patient care and unit activities according to established policies and procedures to provide high quality, individualized patient care. Maintains the integrity of the service to meet all accreditation and licensure requirements. Plans staffing needs for the departments and assists the Administrative Nursing Supervisor to maintain coverage.

Requirements

  • BSN required, MS in Nursing or related field preferred
  • Minimum three years progressive management experience in the field of expertise
  • Minimum five years experience in an acute care setting
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to deal with multiple priorities and short time frames
  • Current California RN license
  • Current BLS card for Health Care Providers (AHA certified)
  • Current ACLS card for Health Care Providers (AHA certified)
  • Current PALS card for Health Care Providers (AHA certified)
