About The Position
The Special Treatment and Research (STAR) Program at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full-time Director of Human Services / Development Director. The successful candidate will work with faculty, senior staff, and line staff to identify growth opportunities that align with STAR Program's mission. This role involves providing leadership to the development of new and continuing grant applications, holding meetings with faculty and team members to develop grant writing assignments, and ensuring compliance with institutional fiscal policies in the development of budgets. The Director will also serve as the STAR Program representative for community relations activities, work with senior staff on promoting programs and services to special populations, and report back on activities to other staff via email and formal reports in senior staff meetings. Additionally, the Director will be responsible for managing the STAR Program's social media presence, developing and distributing program-related information, and providing leadership to special projects that involve development and writing, analytic and budgeting expertise. The position requires organization, creativity, flexibility, and a willingness to evolve with the changing needs of the program.
