The Director of Human Resources is a pivotal role within our organization, responsible for overseeing a wide range of human resources functions. This position is primarily focused on benefit administration, recruitment, policy implementation, and the management of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives. As the HRIS liaison for the department, the Director will ensure that all HR-related processes are efficient and compliant with regulations. The role requires a proactive approach to managing employee benefits, including group health insurance, dental, life, and disability programs, as well as flexible spending accounts (FSAs) and health savings accounts (HSAs). In addition to benefits administration, the Director will handle employee inquiries regarding benefits, ensuring that all issues are resolved quickly and courteously. This includes processing enrollment and change forms within strict deadlines to align with payroll schedules. The Director will also assist in conducting benefits orientation for new employees and coordinate the annual open enrollment process, ensuring that all materials are prepared and distributed effectively. The Director will work closely with the VP of Human Resources to evaluate and compare existing agency benefits, ensuring that the organization remains competitive in its offerings. A key responsibility will be the reconciliation of benefit premiums between the payroll and benefits systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance. The Director will also administer all leaves of absence, working with third-party vendors to determine eligibility for various leave programs, including Family and Medical Leave (FMLA). As a leader in recruitment, the Director will oversee the entire recruitment process in collaboration with the Recruitment and Retention Coordinator. This includes managing DEI initiatives, serving as a resource for employees on DEI matters, and establishing key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of these initiatives. The Director will maintain confidential databases and tracking mechanisms to support the HR department's work, ensuring that all records are accurately stored and compliant with regulations. The role requires strong interpersonal and communication skills, as the Director will provide guidance to employees on HR-related matters and agency policies. The Director will also review and approve staff timecards and leave requests, ensuring compliance with agency policies. Additionally, the Director will lead the implementation of new HRIS modules and coordinate with vendors to ensure seamless information flow between systems. The Director will participate in investigations as required and stay updated on changes in laws and regulations affecting human resources. This position may require attendance at training and development programs, as well as the ability to assume leadership in the absence of the VP of Human Resources. The Director will also be expected to assist with various departmental duties as needed, demonstrating flexibility and a commitment to the organization's success.
