About The Position
The Nebraska Department of Health & Human Services (DHHS) is seeking a dynamic and strategic Director of Human Resources (HR) to lead and shape the agency's HR functions. As a key member of the executive leadership team, this role reports directly to the Chief Legal Officer and oversees the end-to-end HR operations for a department of approximately 70 HR professionals. This leader will drive innovative HR strategies and best practices with a focus on integrity, urgency, and strategic problem-solving. The ideal candidate brings a strong HR background, exceptional communication skills, and a forward-thinking mindset to enhance HR effectiveness across the agency. The Director of HR will be responsible for building an efficient, effective, and customer-focused HR framework, leading key areas such as strategic HR business partnerships, talent acquisition, employee relations, training, benefits management, and payroll.
