About The Position

Requirements

  • Experience supporting human resources functions in a higher education environment.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
  • Experience using HRIS and an applicant tracking system (ATS).
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in human resources, business administration, or related field.
  • 4-6 years of experience in human resources leadership in an academic setting.
  • Experience in implementing HR technology solutions such as HRIS and ATS.
  • Certifications such as SHRM-SCP or SPHR.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement HR strategy, policy, and procedure that align with legal and organizational requirements.
  • Monitor and audit internal controls and processes to ensure compliance.
  • Advise leadership in resolving issues regarding staffing, position management, and employee relations.
  • Supervise and lead a team of 4 full-time HR Specialists, ensuring appropriate training and understanding of HR processes.
  • Manage the employee life cycle programs from recruitment to offboarding.
  • Facilitate performance management systems as outlined by university and state guidelines.
  • Address employee concerns, grievances, and disciplinary matters.
  • Utilize HR Information Systems (HRIS) to manage personnel and human resource data.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships between employees and central units.
