About The Position

Acara Solutions has been providing aerospace clients with our staffing related services for over 60 years. Our national aerospace manufacturing client has an opening for a Director of Human Resources in their Santa Fe Springs, CA plant. This is a direct salaried opening with full benefits. The Salary range is $165K to $190K plus bonus. This is an onsite position. The Director of Human Resources will be responsible for leading and managing the HR function at our Santa Fe Springs plant, supporting the operations and functional teams. This role will serve as a strategic partner to the site leadership team, ensuring alignment of HR strategies with business objectives, and will play a critical role in driving organizational development, talent management, employee relations, and compliance initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a technical degree such as Finance, Math, etc.; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of HR management generalist experience, with at least 3 of those years in a manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Director of HR.
  • In-depth knowledge of employment laws and regulations (especially California).
  • Ability to analyze HR metrics and use data to drive decisions.
  • Experience with HRIS systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Prior experience in HR leadership in a manufacturing environment.
  • A background supporting production floor employees (hourly).
  • Minimum 2 years of payroll processing experience and/or payroll oversight.

Nice To Haves

  • PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP certifications.
  • Fluency in Spanish.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with site leadership and functional teams to understand business objectives and develop HR strategies that support these goals.
  • Oversee talent acquisition, development, and retention strategies, ensuring the site attracts, develops, and retains top talent.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to management and team members on HR-related issues, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and performance management.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
  • Lead initiatives to enhance organizational effectiveness, including change management, team development, and leadership training.
  • Conduct salary assessments and reviews in partnership with corporate Total Rewards team to ensure competitive and equitable offerings that align with company policies and market trends.
  • Develop and analyze HR metrics to assess the effectiveness of HR initiatives for the site and provide insights to leadership for informed decision-making.
  • Champion DEI initiatives at the site, fostering an inclusive work environment that values diverse perspectives and experiences.
  • Lead or participate in company-wide HR projects, ensuring the successful implementation of HR programs and initiatives at the site level.
  • Implement and facilitate training and development programs tailored to the needs of the site in conjunction with standard offerings and training requirements for the Corporation.
  • Partner with functional leaders to implement and support high performing team framework for site.
