About The Position

Under the direct supervision of the Senior Director of HSSP (ODR), the Director of HSSP (ODR) will oversee HSSP services at Project-Based Housing ODR Sites. The Director will oversee administrative and clinical operations, ensure HSSP team is meeting DMH-funder contractual obligations, and ensure strong, effective collaboration with ICMS team at PBH-ODR Sites.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in the field of Social Welfare or Marriage and Family Therapy, or doctorate in psychology or related field; Licensure preferred.
  • Minimum of four years experience in the field of mental health and/or substance addictions.
  • Strong working knowledge of Medi-Cal documentation and requirements.
  • Outstanding clinical review skills
  • Strong training, project management, and team-building skills
  • Able to behave with sensitivity, tact, politeness and responsiveness with staff and clients
  • Detail oriented with excellent time management, organizational, written, verbal, interpersonal, presentation, and computer skills
  • Knowledge of trauma informed services, housing first and harm reduction methodologies.
  • Experience providing administrative and clinical supervision
  • Contract and quality assurance experience
  • Current, valid CA Driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

  • In collaboration with the Senior Director, monitor all administrative aspects of agency’s Department of Mental Health (DMH) contracted HSSP and contract, including billing and contract maximization in compliance with contract goals and outcomes in a timely manner.
  • Serve as the liaison and primary contact for HSSP to ODR (Office of Diversion and Reentry) and agency’s ODR-funded program leadership.
  • Provide supervision to HSSP Program Managers to ensure programs are meeting contractual obligations per DMH Funder and effective collaboration with ODR (Office of Diversion and Reentry), DHS (Department of Health Services)-funded ICMS (Intensive Case Management) Provider.
  • Attend meetings, respond to email correspondence, develop and maintain appropriate relationships (including with the Department of Mental Health and other Intensive Case Management support organizations) on behalf of the Senior Director and staff.
  • Represent agency interests at Department of Mental Health meetings, as well as other DMH HSSP county-wide meetings.
  • Ensure productivity goals and outcomes are achieved, including a minimum of 65% of staff time being in direct service provision across program; including upholding DMH documentation standards and guidelines.
  • Support the coordination of clinical services and activities with outside agencies, partners, and funders; including the coordination of referral processes.
  • Support the coordination and development of new Project Based Housing sites and Scattered Sites assigned to HSSP.
  • Oversee and support the overall functioning of HSSP services at all Project Based Housing sites and Scattered Sites assigned to HSSP.
  • Collaborate with Clinical Quality Assurance and Billing Department to ensure compliance of program requirements.
  • In partnership with the Senior Director, provide individual and team supervision, support, and performance evaluations for all assigned staff.
  • Assist in recruitment, selection, training, supervision, and evaluation of direct service staff.
  • Collaborate with Quality Assurance to ensure proper staff orientation, training and audit preparedness for all clinical and mental health contracts.
  • Complete required reporting to LA County Department of Mental Health as outlined by contract requirements.
  • Support psychiatry needs such as data collection, client coordination, invoices, and reporting.
  • Support the HSSP Intern Program as needed.
  • Assist in crisis interventions as needed.
