About The Position

As the Director of Housekeeping, you will lead all housekeeping operations to ensure exceptional cleanliness standards, operational efficiency, and an elevated guest experience across the property. This executive-level role is responsible for strategic planning, labor management, quality assurance, team development, budgeting, and maintaining brand standards. The Director of Housekeeping oversees all housekeeping leaders and line-level associates, ensuring that guest rooms, public spaces, back-of-house areas, and laundry operations reflect Trailborn’s commitment to excellence. You will collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Engineering, Front Office, and F&B to drive performance, accountability, and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong resort experience, a deep understanding of labor management, and a passion for building engaged, high-performing teams.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a Director of Housekeeping role.
  • Resort experience preferred.
  • Proven leadership experience overseeing large teams in a hospitality environment.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience managing departmental budgets and labor costs.
  • In-depth knowledge of housekeeping operations, laundry operations, and inventory controls.
  • Experience with property management systems (PMS) and housekeeping management systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and develop management-level staff.

Nice To Haves

  • Multi-property or lifestyle/hybrid hospitality brand experience.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred.
  • Experience implementing performance-based labor models.
  • Strong understanding of OSHA compliance and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership and oversight of all housekeeping operations.
  • Develop and manage departmental budgets, forecasts, and labor models to ensure financial performance aligns with targets.
  • Maintain brand standards for cleanliness, presentation, and guest readiness across rooms and public areas.
  • Implement and monitor quality assurance programs, inspections, and service standards.
  • Lead hiring, onboarding, training, coaching, and performance management for housekeeping leaders and associates.
  • Create labor schedules based on occupancy forecasts and operational needs.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, sanitation, OSHA, and local/state regulations.
  • Oversee inventory management, purchasing, and cost control for supplies and equipment.
  • Partner with Front Office to ensure seamless room readiness and guest satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with Engineering on preventative maintenance and room condition initiatives.
  • Drive engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and retention strategies within the department.
  • Handle guest concerns related to housekeeping promptly and professionally.
  • Develop SOPs and continuously evaluate operational efficiencies.
  • Lead departmental meetings and communicate company initiatives clearly.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
