We are seeking a Director of Hosting to lead and evolve the physical and virtual foundations of our global infrastructure. In this role, you will oversee a 24/7/365 team of DBAs, Network Administrators, and Systems Engineers responsible for maintaining ultra-high availability and powering our mission-critical systems. This position is ideal for a technical visionary who views infrastructure as a high-performance engine and has experience operating in ultra-low-latency environments such as High-Frequency Trading (HFT) or large-scale, high-throughput systems.
Requirements
- Container Orchestration: Deep expertise with Kubernetes, including managing stateful Java workloads.
- Storage Systems: Advanced proficiency with Ceph (RBD, RGW, CephFS) at scale.
- Systems Expertise: Strong background in Linux kernel tuning, performance optimization, and systems-level troubleshooting.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (required).
- Cross-Functional Communication: Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for stakeholders and articulate the business impact of infrastructure decisions.
- Collaboration: Demonstrated experience partnering with product and engineering teams to balance infrastructure requirements with business priorities.
- Execution: Proven ability to lead multiple initiatives simultaneously in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Nice To Haves
- Industry Experience: Preferred experience working in HFT, high-volume transaction systems, or similarly demanding performance-driven environments.
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
Responsibilities
- Operational Resilience: Ensure 24/7/365 stability and five-nines availability for our global Java-based fraud detection platform.
- Next‑Gen Scaling: Define and execute scaling strategies for Kubernetes and Ceph clusters to support 10x projected growth.
- Team Leadership & Development: Mentor and grow a specialized, high-performing team while fostering a culture of technical excellence, ownership, and continuous improvement.
- Strategic Alignment: Partner closely with Product and Engineering leaders to ensure infrastructure investments are proactive, strategic, and aligned with business needs.
