The Texas Behavioral Health Center (TBHC) is a newly completed state-funded psychiatric hospital opening in Dallas’ Southwestern Medical District that is owned by the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) and operated by UT Southwestern Medical Center. When fully operational, the 505,000-square-foot facility will house 292 beds, 200 for adult patients and 92 for children and adolescents. As DFW’s first state-funded behavioral health hospital, it is designed to deliver state-of-the-art, patient-centered care in a modern and healing environment. The center provides comprehensive behavioral health treatment and features private patient rooms, abundant access to natural light and nature, and thoughtfully designed spaces that promote recovery. The hospital will also provide training to all behavioral health disciplines. The Director of Hospital Facilities is a key member of the hospital's leadership team, responsible for leading construction, engineering, and facilities operations for major hospital expansion and transition projects. As the Director, you will partner with executive leadership to oversee design, construction, vendor management, contract oversight, and regulatory compliance; manage complex capital projects, support financial and invoicing processes, evaluate risk, and lead the Hospital Facilities team to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget. Regular collaboration with contractors, designers, and key stakeholders is essential. We are looking for someone with a minimum of bachelor’s degree and ten (10) plus years of progressive experience in Facilities Management/Facilities Maintenance Management in hospital, healthcare university institution, or academic research environments, including three (3) plus years experience in upper-level leadership. Strong business acumen, project management expertise, and proven team leadership are required.
