About The Position

We are currently seeking a compassionate, enthusiastic, and patient-centered Health Information Management Director. The health information management director is responsible for supervising the functions of analyzing, compiling, coding, indexing and filing of patient medical records, as well as the authorized release of patient medical information. Ensures that patient medical records are complete, accurate, and in conformance with hospital accreditation standards. Maintains patient records according to hospital policies and legal requirements. Ensures that release of information is carried out according to hospital policies and applicable state law. Monitors accuracy of coding through internal and external audits. Serves as the hospital's privacy officer, providing education to staff, performing random audits and investigating suspected or reported breaches. The hospital facility is comprised of clinical and diagnostic services which are dedicated to providing high quality health care services to the community. These services include but are not limited to an Emergency Room, full service OR suites, an inpatient care unit, therapy services, advanced medical imaging, Home Health, and Hospice Care. The hospital operates rural health clinics in Watseka, IL, Gilman, IL, Milford, IL, and Kentland, IN. The hospital also operates a skilled nursing facility, Iroquois Resident Home, which is attached to the hospital property.

Requirements

  • excellent computer and customer service skills
  • Associates degree required
  • RHIT certification required
  • Supervisory experience preferred
